Polyetherimide
Ultem®

Ultem® 1000 polyetherimide is a high performance polymer with exceptional flame and chemical resistance, and because Ultem performs in continuous use to 340°F, it is recommended for high heat applications.

Ultem® 2100, 2200 and 2300 are glass reinforced versions (10, 20 and 30% respectively) of Ultem® 1000 which provide even greater rigidity and improved dimensional stability while maintaining many of the useful characteristics of basic Ultem®.

Ultem® 2100, 2200 and 2300's glass reinforcement yields a product with an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and increased tensile strength up to 24,500 PSI, making glass reinforced Ultem® one of the strongest thermoplastic materials. In addition, the glass reinforcement reduces Ultem®'s coefficient of thermal expansion close to that of aluminum.

Ultem® is a registered trademark of GE Plastics

Polysulfone

Polysulfone (PSO) is an amber semi-transparent, heat resistant, high-performance engineering thermoplastic. Its excellent mechanical, electrical and chemical resistance properties remain relatively consistent over a broad temperature range, from -150°F (-101°C) to 300°F (149°C).

Polysulfone is exceptionally hydrolysis resistant for use continuously in steam at temperatures up to 300°F. Its flame resistance is UL 94-V-0 at 1/4" thickness (6.35mm) and UL 94-V-2 at 1/8" thickness (3.175mm).

Polysulfone offers high chemical resistance to acids, alkalies and salt solutions, and good resistance to detergents, oils and alcohols. In addition, polysulfone has been found to have excellent radiation stability.
